The Rhythm of His Spirit AND

Hearing the Sound of His Trumpet

by Mari Anne Andersen

As I share the word from the Father it never ceases to amaze me how great and awesome is our Father, and how He loves and enjoys speaking to us. Do you know He really, really, really likes us - not just loves us, likes us. He takes great pleasure in us and actually fancies us - how sweet that is. Our Father is seeking and searching for ways to communicate His extravagant love for us, not just sometimes, but all the time. He is relentless in His pursuit to track with us and for us. He plows the way so we can walk in that way without tripping or stumbling.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit have a movement –a perfect rhythm and timing that enter into all the places of our lives and creation. He creates and initiates melodies of sound that give momentum to His love and goodness.

I would like to introduce to you some of the different calls of a trumpet or what is also known as a shofar in Hebrew. Interestingly, the shofar was a ram's horn, and we see a ram first coming on the scene in Genesis with Abraham who was taking his son, Isaac, the gift of promise, to the mountain to be sacrificed. At the last moment, God provided a substitute sacrifice, a ram caught in the thicket. It also represents today, God's ultimate sacrifice, Jesus Christ. The shofar/trumpet represents strength and power, unlike a harp, which is soothing and calming to the soul and spirit. The trumpet call is usually to seize our attention and wake up our soul and spirit, announcing that something important is to come. Below we will see the significance of the trumpet call which has a long and important history in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:8 - for if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who shall PREPARE himself for battle or for whatever the Lord is leading us into.

Scriptures tells us many meaningful things about this ancient instrument, known as the trumpet, and the symbolism of why someone blew it. Let's walk together through what scripture reveals about the sound of the trumpet when the trumpet was blown, who blew it, what events did he herald, what were the people of Israel suppose to do when they heard the sound of the trumpet, and how did the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob respond?

A Call at Mount Sinai

Hearing the Blast of the Trumpet

Exodus 19:16 - …an ear-piercing trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp shuddered in fear.

Exodus 19:18-20 - The whole mountain shuddered in huge spasms. The trumpet blasts grew louder and louder.

Exodus 20:18 - All the people, experiencing the thunder and lightning, the trumpet blast and the smoking mountain, were afraid - they pulled back andstood at a distance. They said to Moses, "You speak to us and we'll listen, but don't have God speak to us or we'll die."

Exodus 20:20 - Moses spoke to the people: "Don't be afraid. God has come to test you and instill a deep and reverent awe within you so that you won't sin."

On the Almighty's Sabbath

Psalm 81:3 - Blow the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed

Lev. 23:24 - God said to Moses: "Tell the People of Israel, on the first day of the seventh month, set aside a day of rest, a sacred assembly, mark it loud with blasts on the ram's horn. Don't do any ordinary work. Offer a Fire-Gift to God.”

Lev. 25:9 - Then sound loud blasts on the ram's horn on the tenth day of the seventh month, the Day of Atonement. Sound the ram's horn all over the land.

Destruction of Jericho

Joshua 6:4 - demolishing our structured ways that have become our strongholds of thinking, feeling, and acting.

Victory in Warfare

2 Chronicles 13:12 - "Can't you see the obvious? God is on our side; he's our leader. And his priests with trumpets are all ready to blow the signal to battle. O Israel, don't fight God, the God of your ancestors. You will not win this battle."

Return of the Ark

2 Samuel 6:15

Anointing of King Solomon

1 Kings 1:34 - the day of his coronation

Dedication of the Temple

2 Chronicles 5:13

Rebuilding of Jerusalem

Neh. 4:18

Watchmen's Responsibilities

Ezek. 33:3 - call of warning

Warnings Concerning Sin

Isaiah: 58:1, Joel 2:1 - call to repentance

The Lord Shall Blow the Shofar (Trumphet)

Zech: 9:14, Isaiah 18:3, Isaiah 27:13

The sound of the trumpet - the blast of the trumpet - the call of the trumpet, each is used to mark the sovereignty of God. Each can break down spiritual walls, snap chains of bondage, facilitate worship, and empower
intercessory prayer, destroying the enemy.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus, our soon returning King, will sound the ram's horn and in that time the dead will rise. The blasting of His trumpet will signify the end of Satan and his principalities and powers. Can you comprehend why blowing the trumpet can really cause confusion in the enemy's camp? With the sound of the trumpet Satan is uncertain if this is his endor if this is a just a reminder that he is finished.

So with all these scriptures, what

does it mean for us today that the

trumpet is beign blown?

+ The trumpet represents the spokesman of Yahweh, the Almighty God of Israel through whom the Holy Spirit declares and decrees the truth. Are YOU hearing the sound of truth in your life? Is the trumpet in your life sounding an alarm? What does it mean for you? What is the Lord saying in your life?

+ How is the Lord asking YOU today to blow the trumpet in your life and in your circumstance? Is it to scatter the enemy? Is it to herald in victory through divine assistance? Or is it a reminder of His Everlasting Covenant before the end?

+ What about blowing the trumpet to see your sinful walls of protection being demolished? Is the Father asking youto recommit or rededicate your life to the Holy One of Israel? Or does He want you to keep His ways holy? Or, is the Father wanting you to declare your loyalty to the one and only true King of Kings, serving Him and no other?

+ Is the Father calling you into deeper worship, a Sabbath time of soaking in His truth and love, or is He wooing you into restoring truth back into your life? Are you in the danger zone of the evil one where the Father is trying
to get your attention, warning you?

+ No matter why the alarm is sounding or the trumpet blowing, the Father yearns for us to meet with Him at the summit of His Holy Mountain so we can move into a place of faith, repentance, obedience, and extravagance. All
this is to hear the rhythm and sound of His Spirit.

+ This word was given to me February 8, 2011, in Michigan. While Tommy and I had commitments with regards to ministry, we were sitting in the hotel room writing to the Lord. We felt His Spirit tugging and this is what I heard.

+ "The trumpet has been sounded on My Holy Mountain. The sound of My call has been released. The rhythm of My Spirit has been ignited to move into newer and deeper territories.

+ I have come to release the power of My sword. I've come to cut you free of hindrances, darkness and untruthfulness. Listen to the sound of marching through the land of your soul and feel the vibration of My angels taking charge. Be not apprehensive or wondering IF things will change. Be confident that the battle is MINE and the victory is YOURS. I have come to demolish the works of the enemy simply by the sound of the trumpet blasting.

+ I will release evidence for you to hold onto. I am giving the "go" from the command tower so you need to fasten your seat belts and be ready for take-off, for my engines are reeling with power and speed to launch you up
and out....

+ Hear the sound of My trumpet blasting - hear the sound of My alarm - hear the sound of My returning. I have released the power of My angels to take charge - to invade the places - to see the enemy scattered, and for YOU to collect the goods, to collect the spoils, receive recompense and take hold of the gold. Hear the sounds of Heaven invading your lives...

+ Know that MY FREEDOM IS RELEASED AND WILL BE IMMINENT AND PERMANENT,” says the Lord....

So dear friends, take heart, be of good cheer and be

encouraged that if God is for us who then can be against us.

Greater is He Who is in me than he who is in the world.

"So, my dear friends, listen carefully: those who embrace these my ways are most blessed. Mark a life of discipline and live wisely; don't squander your precious life. Blessed the man, blessed the woman, who listens to me, awake and ready for me each morning, alert and responsive as I start my day's work. When you find me, you find life, real life, to say nothing of God's good pleasure. But if you wrong me, you damage your very soul; when you reject me, you're flirting with death."
