What Is A Trained Lay Prayer Counselor?

A trained lay prayer counselor is a common Christian man or woman who is a whole-hearted follower of Jesus Christ. This is someone who has personally benefited from prayer counseling in his/her own life, and now feels God’s call to minister to others with a heart of compassion and a spirit of love.

All prayer counselors must be graduates from Freedom House’s video training program. They must also go through the internship program and other ongoing training opportunities provided by Freedom House.

  • As a safe place for pastors to send church members for solid, Biblical, Spirit-filled prayer counseling.
  • As a safe place for pastors and their families to come for safe, anonymous, Biblical, Spirit-filled prayer counseling.
  • As a safe and inspirational place to call for help in building and training a network of prayer counselors in their own congregations
  • As a place to call for inspiring guest speakers for any preaching and teaching needs related to personal and family health, renewal, restoration and rebuilding, for retreats, conferences, workshops or regular Sunday church services.
